The Property Facing the main house, three doors open at ground level. Far right is the Gormley Suite, the owners' self-contained private accommodation. Gormley Suite Entered from the far right, the suite has its own kitchen and dining area with vaulted ceiling and granite worktops, a bathroom, and a door opening onto the walled covered patio and bar. Stairs rise to the upper level where the master bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom and a separate lounge area, a genuinely self-contained retreat removed from the rest of the house. Connecting Bedroom The central door leads to a double bedroom at the junction of the two sides of the house. A lockable connecting door allows the suite to operate in complete privacy when the owners are in residence, or the whole quinta to open as a single rental for larger groups. Main House The far left entrance leads through a corridor with a full bathroom and into the main living room, with original stone walls, wooden beams, and a wood-burning stove feeding the central heating. Location Alvorge sits within the Serra de Sicó, a protected limestone landscape of caves, gorges, and river valleys. Local cafés, restaurants, and a mini-market are a few minutes away. Ansão is 20 minutes, Coimbra 25 minutes. The Aldeias do Xisto schist villages, Silver Coast beaches, and the Mata Nacional do Buçaco are all within an hour. Lisbon and Porto airports are each 1.5 to 2 hours by car.
