Scicli, Calamarieri district, set on the navigator, and now let's enjoy this trip on a beautiful May afternoon. I landed at three o'clock at the airport and after a short stop at the hotel I rented an old yellow convertible beetle. Here, among dry stone walls, prickly pears and olive trees, I seem to have made a leap into the past, it seems to be in a place where the time dictated by the clock has given way to life and nature, and is marked by it. The mobile phone invites me to turn right and not without emotion my visit begins. The dirt driveway is surrounded by dry stone walls behind which some fruit plants are cultivated. There are plots of land at this time uncultivated for about 25,000 meters, there are fruit plants and olive trees and I already imagine it as a large green garden in which to spend my time; the walls widen and I can park in a square. To my right the main structure is on two levels, a ground floor overlooking the square and a mezzanine floor. There is a main body currently divided into a kitchen, a living room with fireplace and two rooms from one of which you can access the mezzanine. A series of similar constructions from one or two rooms, with different heights that make the view more lively and pleasant, are attached to the main one; they were old warehouses, stables and ancillary rooms. On the opposite side we find the garage with bathroom and warehouse and a rustic. This farmhouse needs to relive its ancient splendor, keeping alive its original spirit with exposed stones and if it were possible also the wattle of the roof which is a real show. The spaces must be reviewed and rethought but the potential is already visible even to an inexperienced eye. Now I get back in the car, the setting sun reminded me that you can not have arrived in Sicily without having yet dived into the wonderful sea. Today I will go to the quiet tower of the financier and we will meet again when you invite me to the garden at the inauguration of this jewel that you have secured.
