Strasbourg, Alsace 67000

In Alsace, very close to Strasbourg, an authentic Alsatian house, its outbuilding and its garden. From the street, a side gable with timber framing, protected by small overhangs on each floor, is revealed. The half-timbering notably features diamond motifs crossed with the Saint Andrew's cross, which, according to ancestral beliefs, ensured prosperity and fertility to its occupants. The wooden plinth blocks and cornices testify to the wealth of the old farmstead, whose land and outbuildings were once larger than today. A wooden gate and a wooden gatehouse give access to the property via the courtyard, extended by the garden. The main façade of the house, also half-timbered, communicates with the courtyard-garden, facing southwest. In its extension lies the outbuilding, itself open toward the garden.
