The skylight... An exceptional place that will leave no one indifferent! No doubt you will be charmed by this incredible site, as have all those who have had the pleasure and fortune to display their canvases, their creations, their collections, their fabrics over the centuries. Today, its fortunate owner and I hope a refined new project will find its place here, whether artistic, gastronomic, bistronomic, or commercial. Its Gascon architecture, likely dating from the Middle Ages, adds a historic, authentic touch and soul. Its location in the heart of a village as old as Saint-Clarfrom foundations dating back to the 13th centuryfacing the wooden-pillared market hall makes this ensemble a privileged site overlooking one of the finest arcades of the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. This picturesque village hosted numerous skilled hands, artisans working leather, fabrics, wood, stone, metal, and grain. This building was even a famous haberdashery at the beginning of the 20th century. One of its talented owners even built the pulley system that lifts the large chandelier illuminating the entrance hall, bringing natural and softened light to all floors. This central element, this atypical architecture are fully enhanced by an incredible scenography. On the ground floor: From the moment we arrive, on the Southwest side, our gaze rests on the magnificent metal spiral staircase, sweeping the very bright room with its display windows, the semicircular glazed entrance... and rises to the large brass chandelier and the wooden gallery that adorn this skylight across the three levels. A second staircase leads to a first cellar equipped with a well. Next to this large hall (50 m²), there is a kitchen area, a second glass entrance door and a beautiful display window, Southwest-facing, access to a second cellar (equipped with the underfloor heating system for the ground floor), then a corridor, a pantry and separate toilets. A perfect space for any type of activity! On the first floor: The spiral staircase leads to this magnificent gallery with a downward view of the shop, where one can glimpse the imposing, lovely haberdashery case and two Southwest-facing bedrooms. The railing surrounding the skylight is lined with sculpted balusters (feet in alternating male and female heads) and tall supports that once surely held the drapes, fabrics, and ribbons of the haberdashery. A second staircase, from the ground floor landing, guides us to a landing, a bathroom with WC, a dining room and an integrated kitchen. On the second floor (with exposed beams and lime-plaster): From this second landing with a platform, one can go up to a mezzanine where children will love to play... Or proceed to a corridor with a bathroom, then to a third bedroom and a mansard living room of 53 m² with a view of the village square. From here, one accesses the last room: the technical room housing the chandelier pulley system and storage shelves. The floors are heated by an air/air heat pump. The joinery on the two upper floors is double-glazed. The shutters have been repaired and repainted. The roof, made of tiles and asbestos-cement, is in good condition.
