Between Haut Quercy and Corrèze, in the quiet of a small village, a rectory for residential use, its priests garden, its back courtyard and its pool. Between the Romanesque church and the castle, in the old part of the hamlet inherited from medieval settlements linked to the vicomté of Turenne, the rectory is hidden behind a stone wall that preserves its privacy. From the narrow alley, a double-leaf forged gate opens onto an enclosed, mineral courtyard, allowing vehicle parking. In the corner of this courtyard, backed against the barn, a basin discreetly animates the space. From the courtyard, the main entrance, the cellar entrance, and the living room entrance are organized, the latter being marked by a wide lintel carved with a clasp that recalls the places history. The current dwelling would date from the late 19th century. It rises over three levels, including an converted attic, and rests on a vaulted cellar. Its blonde stone façades, partly clad with ivy, preserve the sobriety of ecclesiastical houses of yesteryear. A barn placed as a right-angle prolongs the ensemble and structures the volumes around the courtyard. A window lights the staircase and is embellished with a motif painted like a stained-glass window fixed in tin. The roof of the main body, with four sides, corresponds to that of the two-sided barn, forming a balanced silhouette in the landscape. To the south, the house opens onto a densely planted garden that provides freshness and privacy. A terrace and a trellis extend the living spaces outdoors, while lower down, the pool and its wooden deck blend discreetly into the vegetation, reinforcing the propertys discreet character.
