Manor House With Meadow And Woods On The Banks Of The River This manor house is generally presented as dating from the fifteenth century (when it was remodelled) but its origins are much more distant. Located on La Claise, at the entrance to La Brenne, it was the seat of a fief that came under the Abbey of Méobec. In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries it belonged to the Parnac family, then it became the property of the lords of Chabenet and many others over the centuries. Of the manor house, there remains today an elegant 15th century main building, on three levels plus an attic, flanked by a square stairway tower with a main entrance door in ogival style and it has kept a round tower which is the old dovecote. This house deserves a renovation while taking care to preserve the vestiges of the past that make up its identity, including its well located in a wall of the living room, this noble country residence having been built to be able to live in self-sufficiency for several months if necessary. Today on the first level we have a large kitchen and a large living room, a bathroom with shower, laundry room, toilet, cellar and pantry in the basement. The stone staircase leads to the second level where there are two landings leading to four bedrooms, two of which have a toilet, a toilet, then on the third level two large rooms that are not habitable as they are and finally to the attic which has a magnificent framework of the type of overturned boat hull. From the windows of the bedrooms you will have a magnificent view of the river that borders the property, surrounded by green meadows and woods on about 11.5 hectares. The outbuildings of the manor house have also survived the centuries and you will therefore have at your disposal for all types of activities, tourist or otherwise, a small house to renovate, a barn with awning and another large stone building, old stables with attic above, one end of which has been converted into a small hunting lodge. You will be in the countryside while being 15kms from a commercial area of Châteauroux and 10 minutes from the A20 motorway. If you have an agricultural crop or livestock project that requires more land and/or wood, with a need for housing and/or additional farm buildings, the adjacent organic livestock farm is also available for sale, so I can provide you with all the necessary additional information and present this farm that I market under another of our brands.
