Tranquil, secluded and immersed in nature, Elsternwick Gardens by Milieu is a new neighbourhood in Melbourne’s leafy south-east. Comprising a collection of thoughtfully designed buildings, extensive landscaping and an innovative arts program, the project marks Milieu’s most significant work to date. 

Integrated, sustainable and culturally responsive, the neighbourhood is intended to foster wellbeing and add to what is already a culturally rich and vibrant village-like community. 

Designed in collaboration with esteemed international architecture studio Woods Bagot, interior designer studios K.P.D.O. and Flack Studio, and landscape architect Oculus, the new neighbourhood will offer generous, sustainable and considered homes, tailored for owner-occupiers and designed to meet a wide variety of needs. Functional resident amenity will also focus on health and wellbeing, with facilities to include fitness, yoga and Pilates spaces, a steam room, infrared saunas, as well as mineral and cold plunge pools for residents to enjoy. 

Nestled between Glen Huntley and Ripponlea villages, Elsternwick Gardens will offer great access to retailers and amenities, schools, public transport, bars and restaurants such as Bang Bang, Hanoi Hana, Aviv, Carter Lovett and more. The grounds at Elsternwick Gardens will feature three residential offerings: Gordon Place, Ripponlea Terrace and The Garden Pavilion. Each offering explores a distinct approach to designing homes, while benefiting from Milieu's unwavering attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

Progressive, sustainable design is central to our approach to creative development. Combining enduring materials with thoughtful architecture and adaptable interiors, we work to develop projects that facilitate healthy and happy local communities. Our buildings invariably include cross flow ventilation, solar power, carbon-neutral energy supplies and provision for EV charging. We also favour passive design principles that minimise dependence on artificial heating and cooling. Collectively, these measures reduce residents’ environmental impact long term. Designing to these standards ensures our buildings consistently receive a NatHERS rating of at least 7.0 on average.
